The term “Resubdivision of Property” is often used in the land surveying community and by planning departments.  This reference actually addresses several types of surveying projects which involve the legal division or combination of existing lots or tracts into revised legal tracts.  Under the heading of a “Map of Resubdivision”, a sub-heading can reference a “Combination of Lots” or an “Exchange of Property”, as examples.  A resubdivision can also include adjusting the bearing or direction/location of only an existing, common property line. These basic boundary line revisions must also be mapped and approved by the respective planning commission.

For all municipalities, there are code of ordinances or municipal codes which govern if and how property can be further divided.  Although similar, each municipality imposes their own requirements for the extent of map detail and submission protocols for review and approval.

Our company focuses on minor resubdivision projects and has extensive experience in working with the planning offices in our surrounding communities.  We are happy to discuss your specific project.
