A Family Tradition Since 1921
Richmond W. Krebs & Associates, LLC, is a full-service land surveying firm located in Denham Springs, Louisiana. Our office serves the Greater Baton Rouge area, including all communities within East Baton Rouge, Ascension, Livingston and Tangipahoa Parishes.
Richmond W. (“Rich”) Krebs, Sr., is President and owner of the company, as well as our office in Metairie, Louisiana, and serves as the Licensed Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) for both locations. Our history dates back to the early 1930’s when Rich’s grandfather, Jack Krebs, Sr. formed “J.J. Krebs & Sons Land Surveying and Engineering” in New Orleans, Louisiana. Rich’s father, John M. Krebs, also a Land Surveyor, ran the surveying division of J.J. Krebs & Sons until his death in 1977. Rich grew up with the same passion for the industry as his father and grandfather and naturally followed in their footsteps.
The primary services of our office include FEMA Flood Elevation Certificates, Boundary Surveys, ReSubdivision Surveys, Construction Benchmarks, Builder Packages, including No-Work Affidavits. We also provide ALTA/NSPS Surveys and Topographic Surveys.
Company-wide, we deliver thousands of FEMA Flood Elevation Certificates each year. Our company experienced first-hand the catastrophic damage to homes and property from Hurricane Katrina and the August 2016 Flood. We have successfully worked with thousands of clients as they pursued the process of rebuilding and understand the critical necessity to provide timely, accurate work.
Our company uses leading industry technology and equipment in collecting field data. Our surveying personnel and administrative staff are experienced professionals who are committed to our objectives of providing knowledgeable service and highly-accurate work.

Richmond W. Krebs, Sr.
Professional Land Surveyor
Owner – CEO
Rich was born in New Orleans, Louisiana and until recently making Denham Springs his primary home, was a life-long resident of Metairie, Louisiana. His career in land surveying began at a young age, in June 1968, while working under the tutelage of his grandfather and father at J.J. Krebs & Sons, Inc. Both his grandfather, Jack Krebs, Sr., and his father, John M. Krebs, along with Rich’s uncle, Jack Krebs, Jr., were the founding members of J.J. Krebs & Sons, Inc., a well-known engineering and land surveying firm in New Orleans. It was during this period that Rich was taught all aspects of the land surveying business.
After the passing of his grandfather, Jack Krebs, Sr., in 1970, Rich continued to work with his father, John M. Krebs, at J.J. Krebs & Sons until he entered the United States Army in late 1972. He was honorably discharged in October 1974 and immediately returned to work with his father. Rich’s beloved father passed away very suddenly in 1977.
With the early, unexpected death of his father, Rich remained committed to fulfill his dream of establishing his own land surveying business and in August 1979, he struck out on his own, providing area land surveyors with technical and field support services.
In November 1997, Rich became licensed by the State of Louisiana as a Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) and in May 1999, Mr. Krebs expanded his practice when he became a licensed Professional Land Surveyor for the State of Mississippi. He is a member of Louisiana Society of Professional Land Surveyors, American Congress on Surveying and Mapping, and a member of the National Society of Professional Surveyors Foundation.
